AGM of IIIE Bhilai Chapter concluded with the election of its new Executive Committee

New Executive Committee of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE), Bhilai Chapter Elected in AGM


• K. Patel Re-elected as Chairman; Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan as Vice Chairman; Avneesh Dubey as Secretary; Vivek Gupta as Treasurer


Bhilai ( Dewangan Times) : The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE), Bhilai Chapter, a premier national professional body dedicated to the advancement of Industrial Engineering, was held at the Bhilai Nivas Coffee House Auditorium. During the meeting, elections for the Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term were successfully conducted.

The newly elected office bearers are: K. Patel, former General Manager of Bhilai Steel Plant, as Chairman; Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan and Chandranan Jain as Vice Chairmen; Avneesh Dubey as Secretary; Vivek Gupta as Treasurer; Dheerajlal Soni as Joint Secretary; and M. Wilson as Joint Treasurer. Former Chairman H.K. Desai, S.K. Dogra, and Kamlesh Kumar Gupta were elected as members of the Executive Committee. Senior Engineer S.K. Dogra served as the Election Officer.


Addressing the gathering, Vice Chairman Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan presented a comprehensive overview of the Chapter's activities during the previous term. He emphasized the effective application of Industrial Engineering techniques for the multidimensional development of children, women, and society at large. Chairman K. Patel highlighted the growing importance of Industrial Engineering and shared the Chapter's action plan, which includes organizing a National Convention in the near future and contributing actively to awareness and prevention initiatives related to Sickle Cell Anaemia and Thalassemia. Former Chairman H.K. Desai, K.L. Vishwakarma, Dheerajlal Soni, and other members also addressed the meeting.


The Annual General Meeting unanimously approved the audited accounts of the Chapter for the financial year 2025–26. Members offered several constructive suggestions for the organization's future growth, including sharing the rich professional experience of senior engineers, strengthening cleanliness and environmental conservation initiatives, and encouraging innovative ideas in the field of Industrial Engineering.


A large number of members, along with their family members, attended the meeting. Prominent attendees included K.L. Vishwakarma, Santosh Agrawal, Satyanath Sahukar, S.K. Vishwakarma, Arif Khan, and Sandeep Nandanwar. The proceedings were conducted by Secretary Avneesh Dubey, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Treasurer Vivek Gupta.



On the occasion, senior member Kantilal Vishwakarma was felicitated on attaining the age of 75 years, and a cake-cutting ceremony was organized to extend warm wishes. The meeting concluded with a two-minute silence in memory of the late senior member B.K. Saraf, paying tribute to his valuable contributions to the field of Industrial Engineering.
