Compassion in Action : Senior Citizens Celebrate Collective Birthdays with Kind Gesture for Animals and Birds

Bhilai (Dewangan Times) : A heartwarming and socially meaningful celebration of collective birthdays of senior citizens was organized at Siyan Sadan, Vaishali Nagar, marked by enthusiasm, dignity, and a spirit of togetherness. On this special occasion, a unique message of compassion and social responsibility was conveyed through the distribution of earthen bowls (sakore) to provide water and food for birds and animals during the scorching summer.

The initiative aimed to encourage sensitivity towards living beings. Participating senior citizens voluntarily pledged to arrange water troughs and food for cows, dogs, and other animals in their neighborhoods, reinforcing the values of empathy and care for all life forms.

Adding to the welfare initiatives, Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Treasurer of the Mahasangh, generously donated a refrigerator to Siyan Sadan, ensuring access to cool drinking water and fresh food for the elderly members.
Addressing the gathering, Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan, President of Bhilai Varishtha Nagrik Mahasangh, emphasized the importance of such collective events in reducing loneliness and stress among the elderly. He stated, “True humanity lies in compassion and sensitivity towards other living beings, including animals and birds.” He also highlighted the responsibility of senior citizens in imparting strong moral values to future generations. Radheshyam Prasad, President of Siyan Sadan, reaffirmed that the facility at Vaishali Nagar would continue to serve as a center for constructive and community-oriented activities.
On this occasion, senior citizens D. A. Karmakar, Premnath Tripathi, and Ghanshyam Yadav were felicitated, with wishes for their healthy, happy, and long lives. The event also featured engaging games and musical activities, bringing joy and cheer to all attendees.
Several senior members present, including Ratanlal Goyal, Gangacharan Purohit, Rajpal Singh Raghav, Dinesh Prasad Mishra, Nandkumar Dewangan, Shankar Shende, Suresh Chandra Jain, K.N. Dewangan, S.K. Gupta, C. B. Dinde, Joseph, P.L. Lambekar, Borkar, R. D. Verma, Ashok Jagnasi, M.L. Gopal, Ratanani, Shobharam, and many others, appreciated the Federation’s constructive initiatives and encouraged their continuation.

The program was skillfully conducted by Radheshyam Prasad, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dinesh Gupta.
