Divyanshu Dewangan and Shambhavi Kshirsagar Win Gold Medal at World Cup Shooting Championship; Set New World Record

Bhilai (Dewangan Times) : At the World Cup 2026 organized by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) in Cairo, Egypt, Divyanshu Dewangan, along with his teammate Shambhavi Kshirsagar, secured a Gold Medal for India. Along with this remarkable victory, they also achieved the distinction of setting a new World Record.


The duo created history by winning the Gold Medal in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Junior event. Throughout the competition, Divyanshu Dewangan and Shambhavi Kshirsagar displayed exceptional consistency and composure. Competing against strong international contenders, they steadily improved their score at every stage and maintained their lead during the final shots. They clinched the Gold Medal with an outstanding score of 499.9, thereby establishing a new world record.

This remarkable achievement has brought immense pride and joy to the nation, the state of Chhattisgarh, and the entire Dewangan community. Congratulations and best wishes have been pouring in from all quarters.


Shri Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan, State Vice President of Chhattisgarh Sarv Samaj Organization and a senior member of the Dewangan community, termed this victory as a moment of great pride for the country. Divyanshu Dewangan is the son of Shri Shailendra Dewangan and Smt. Yamini Dewangan, residents of Raigarh. This achievement has added glory not only to his family but also to the entire region.
