Laurels To India : Bhilai artist Neha shines on Global Stage

BHILAI ( Dewangan Times) : Bhilai-born artist Neha Dewangan has brought laurels to India by showcas- ing her talent in the United Kingdom. A graduate of Bhilai and Nagpur Univer- sity, she created history at Mumbai's Jehangir Art Gal- lery by becoming the first artist to win two awards simultaneously.

Currently associated with the University of East London's Faculty of Visual Arts, her achievements have been lauded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and eminent figures including Dr Ankush Dewangan, DS Vidyarthi, BL Soni, Mohan Baral, Meena Dewangan, Praveen Kalmegh, Vijay Sharma, and Menka Verma. Art critic DS Vid- yarthi described her work as a profound analytical process, balancing tension, resistance, and psychologi- cal liberation. Neha herself emphasizes abstraction as a search for mind and energy, striving for tri- angular balance and an ever-evolving sense of completeness. Senior member of the Dewangan community, Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan, has described Neha’s achievement as a matter of pride for the Dewangan community and whole Chhattisgarh.
