Women pledge to launch a mass movement against addiction at Nari Tu Narayani – Sangoshthi avm Nari Samman Samaroh” in Navratri

Bhilai (Dewangan Times) : On the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri, the “Nari Tu Narayani – Sangoshthi avm Nari Samman Samaroh” was successfully organized at Siyan Sadan, Housing Board Bhilai under the aegis of Bhilai Varishtha Nagrik Mahasangh. The program was chaired by the Mahasangh President, Mr. Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan. Prominent attendees included BJP leader Ms. Divya Bhasin, Vice President Ms. Archana Mule, Treasurer Mr. Dinesh Gupta, Ms. Shailja Varshney, Dr. Kantilal Vishwakarma, Mr. S.K. Nandi, and Mr. K.B. Gujar.

Addressing the seminar, President Mr. Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan stated that in Indian culture, women have always been regarded as symbols of strength, compassion, and creation. The festival of Navratri conveys the message of respect, equality, and dignity towards women. He emphasized that women form the foundation of society and play a decisive role in family, social, and national development.

He further highlighted that today women are excelling in every field including education, politics, science, administration, and the armed forces. “Empowered women build a strong society; therefore, women must become empowered,” he said. He added that education, health, safety, and self-reliance are the key pillars of women empowerment. The event was organized to spread this message widely, to highlight the importance of women in society, and to honor them as embodiments of strength.

During the program, around 70 women, including those who have made remarkable contributions in various fields, were honored with tilak, garlands, traditional shawls, and coconuts. A seminar focusing on women’s importance, empowerment, dignity, and their role in nation-building was also conducted, where women and intellectuals shared their views.
The role of women in curbing the growing menace of substance abuse in society was strongly emphasized. On this occasion, women collectively resolved to initiate a mass movement against addiction and to work towards building a healthy, aware, and empowered society. Participants held placards with slogans and expressed concern and anger over the increasing addiction trends and opium cultivation in the region.

The program began with welcome songs, devotional “Jasgeet,” and bhajans, creating a spiritual and vibrant atmosphere. The event was anchored by Ms. Chhaya Vishwakarma, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Archana Mule. A large number of women were present on the occasion.
